The popular Pineapple Festival is returning this weekend in downtown Jensen Beach. This 30-year old festival is one of the largest in the region and one of the few remaining true street festivals in South Florida.
Our annual Pineapple Festival is an off-shoot of an activity that started in the 1970’s as the kick-off for the LCA annual Fund Drive. The Pineapple Festival is the largest event annually and LCA continues to be the main sponsor and organizer of the event held each summer. Produced by the Jensen Beach Chamber of Commerce, the initial Pineapple Festival was held in 1988 in concurrence with the Jensen Beach Centennial Celebration. In 1990 Jensen Beach teamed up with Gregory Town, Eleuthera, Bahamas to start a popular attraction at the festival each year to have an authentic Bahamian Market that features island music, crafts and the Junkanoo parade. The Chamber not only produces the festival, but organizes it as well with the help of sponsors and hundreds of volunteers.
- The Pineapple Festival will mark its 25 th anniversary on Saturday, July 1, 2017, and it’s sure to be the best yet! Scheduled performers include award-winning Hawaiian entertainers Weldon Kekauoha and Anuhea, along with hula and Tahitian dancers and local crafters displaying their wares.
- Course through the festival grounds which supports classroom. Grants for local schools. Beer Selections. Grab a beer inside the giant party tent! Football on the Big Screen. On Saturday, November 14, enjoy college football and on Sunday, November 15, watch NFL games inside the giant tent on the big LED.
